Ads for the Holiday Tour of Homes ticket booklet – no later than October 3rd. Sandra must have the ad copy by then in order to get the booklet turned in for printing. This Friday evening – September 30, 7:00 pm – Starlight Concert at Highlander Park – Steve Beaty is sponsoring the concert and will be featuring DYG – This is a great way to get info out about our projects and our contributions to the community – Please try to attend. Drag Queen bingo was a huge success. We made over $1700 between bingo cards and the 50/50. We are going to do it again on October 23rd. This is a Sunday and bingo will start at 5 PM. It is the same deal as last time. We will need 100 reservations or we will have to split the profits. So gather your group and call Hamburger Mary’s by September 26. Remember when you make your reservation to give yourself enough time to eat. By the way we are having a different “Queen” as caller this time. Clothes to Kids is having another underwear drive–Drop
Hope you are all enjoying our Florida hot, wet summer. We were fortunate to be able to use the inside display case at the library for the month of August. Becky Holt did a great job of creating a display showing all the things the Guild does. It was also a great way to advertise the Home Tour. Sandra Erickson took some pictures for you to see. Come to the library and check it out in person.
The eighth-grade Odyssey of the Mind team at Dunedin Highland Middle School recently placed first in their division at the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals at Iowa State University. The team also won the “Ranatra Fusca Creativity Award,” which recognizes a team that takes risks and uses tremendous creativity. The school’s seventh-grade team won second place in their division. Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. The world finals

Plan to arrive prior to 6:00 PM for the dinner/meeting which will start promptly at 6:00 PM. The restaurant will be open for seating at 5:30 PM. Sandra has a wonderful evening planned!! There will be sign up sheets for volunteer opportunities for our fundraising projects. Please think about what you would enjoy and sign up.
