The Holiday Tour of Homes will be Saturday, December 2, 2017.

We have four great homes, the Dunedin Fine Arts Center, and six apartments at Mease Manor to show during this tour.  This year there is a change in venue for the Tea and Boutique – it will be in the auditorium at Mease Manor.

With the change in Tea locations, our duties as members will change a little – but we still have plenty of jobs to do.

Please read the list below and start planning how you can contribute to the success of this year’s tour:

Giving Trees (opportunities are sold to win these). The committee needs your help with decorations –

Teddy Bear Tree – we have over 100 beautifully painted glass bears but need members to bring

Small stuffed bears – 3 to 6 inches – not big ones

Shiny red balls – a variety of sizes but not giant over-sized ones

Victorian Tree – this will be a smaller tree so no gigantic ornaments please.   Ornaments such as angels, nosegays, ornaments with lace/pearls, old-fashioned village pieces, old fashioned shoes

If you want examples look at these websites:

Victorian Christmas Ornaments 1  and Victorian Christmas Ornaments 2

Don’t forget the member obligations associated with the tour: You can bring money, items, and/or sign up in October or November.

  1. Tea – contribute $10 toward the expense for sandwiches OR sign up to bring 9 dozen small cookies – cookies should be about “2-bite” sized and homemade
  2. Boutique – Contribute $20 to the boutique OR bring 6 items to be sold in the boutique. You can purchase or hand-craft your items but they should be good quality. Some DYG members are talented crafters and can give you some good ideas.
  3. Tickets – Each member is responsible for the purchase or sale of ONE ticket. However, since the tour is one of our MAJOR Fundraisers, it’s important that everyone try to sell as many tickets as possible.

Jobs – Sign-up Sheets will be at the meetings in both October and November.

Because of the change of location for the Tea and Boutique, we will need fewer people working in the Kitchen and Tea room.  But, because we have so many venue’s, we will need more hostesses.

Remember – the more profit we make – the more we can do to support our youth.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the meeting Tuesday.
